Welcome to my English 100 portfolio/blog! This is where I place my
English 100 works from
the beginning to the semester, to the final essay. Some of these assignments posted have been revised
to emphasize easiness of reading, and effective attention grabbing technique. This will be kept in the
internet until the end of time so I may be able to refer to my own work, and see how I am able to
improve before being enrolled in English classes which could require extra dedication to critique,
annotation, paraphrase, and most important of all, reading as a writer. In these works, you will notice
how I’ve used “they say/ I say”, a component which involves me discussing my argument(s)
intellectually, while using (or “quoting”) other author’s points, bias, or reliable information at my
disposal or provide credibility, or set an example to clarify my point. This class also assisted me in
being able to argue not out of impulse, but to inquire, persuade and inform my intended audience out
use of credible resources of writer's work by legitimate paraphrasing, quoting, and
explaination.
Anyway, I appreciate you all looking at all my work! So the theme for our English 100
class was to read as a writer. It sounds easy yes? But one just can't simply be reading as a writer if
they cannot analyze, interpret, and understand all the rhetorical components in any type of writing. It
takes practice. Luckily, our professor handed us assignments which would sharpen our class' skills in
being competent in critique, persuasive in argument, curious in inquiry, and utilizing what you have
to argue by using other author's viewpoints and other sources of legitimate writing. So, let's get
started with my essay of your choice on one of the links below Betelgeuse! (297 words) (By the way
Professor, all the words in th opening statements and closing statements (located in the comments
section of every page,) add up to 2038 words, not counting the "Know Your Way" page.)
